Does this delete my Telegram account?
No. Telegone cleans up selected messages and history. Your account, profile, and username stay yours.
What does “delete for everyone” actually mean?
Where Telegram permits, a request removes messages for the other participants too. A whole private-chat cleanup can include incoming messages as well as your own. Group and channel cleanup targets your own messages. The final review explains which scope you chose. Bot chats and permissions have different limits.
Can it remove screenshots and saved copies?
No. Screenshots, forwarded copies, downloaded files, and independent backups are outside the cleanup. Telegone cannot promise to erase every copy everywhere.
What happens if a cleanup stops midway?
The app keeps a local progress record when supported encrypted storage is available. It reports completed, failed, and uncertain work separately. Continuing requires another explicit review; it does not automatically select new messages.
Is it available on my phone?
The working app is for desktop. Mac is our first release target; Windows and Linux need their own validation. There is no mobile app or account-connected browser version available yet.
Is Telegone made by Telegram?
No. Telegone is an independent application that uses the Telegram API. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Telegram.
Does a backup let me undo deletion?
No. It preserves a separate readable copy of supported planned messages and media. It cannot put a deleted conversation back into Telegram. Missing or unsupported content makes an export incomplete; check the app’s result before treating it as a backup.
Why can’t I choose “only for me” in some groups?
Telegram’s channel/supergroup API deletes messages for everyone and does not honor a local-only revoke flag. Telegone refuses that incompatible combination and asks you to review the audience.
Do I have to create a developer application?
The current source build supports your own API credentials. A distributor-configured application sign-in path is implemented but needs registered production credentials before a consumer release. Telegone does not ship sample or borrowed credentials.
Where do I get the app, and is it already paid?
Start with the source/setup guide or the free fictional demo. The public installer and planned $24 one-time purchase are not active yet.
